What time is it?

I don't know about you, but I seem to be having issues with time.  (For example, I just started writing this November blog post on November 5th) Due to the events of late 2019 and throughout 2020 and 2021, time schedules became "optional" at best.  For many humans, especially me, this has caused a great deal of angst.

As I reflect, I realize that time schedules have always been a part of my life.  As a teacher, and a technology coordinator in two different school systems and as the director of a communications office for a large corporation, time schedules were a central part of my workday.  Once retired, while time schedules were not as restrictive, they did exist.  Events were scheduled, trips were planned, grandchildren's games/events were attended.  Family gatherings were regular part of our life.  Until very recently, those kinds of events were either cancelled or in some cases held but with little or no options to attend them.  Even now, as more things are opening up, it is just not the same.

The more I thought about this, the more I realized that there is another issue at play here...CHANGE!  For many of us, change is a six-letter word that is in the same category of a four-letter word.  Many of us say to ourselves (or maybe even out loud) oh, no, not another change...

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with change of seasons, change of clothes, or any other "normal" changes.  But I can't help myself from thinking about changes like wearing a mask to enter the bank.  For the first seventy years of my life, if you did that, either the guard would stop you or a bank employee would call the police thinking you were about to commit a robbery.  I know why mask wearing is necessary and I fully support it, but I just find it so strange.

One more thing, since I am talking about time, as I write this, I realize that I will have to change all of my clocks back to standard time from "daylight savings time"...ENOUGH!!!
